Our Nurseries

Our two nurseries based at Green Street, Rope Walk and Le Hurel, La Pouquelaye provide the perfect foundation to enable your child to reach their full potential in preparation for their next big step into school.

Our nurseries pride themselves on offering high quality child care and education to children aged 2–5 years old, whilst supporting working parents.

We are now delighted to announce that our baby unit (catering for 0-2 year olds) is now open at La Pouquelaye.

For further information, please contact Tanja Haynes on 735151

We are passionate about investing in our children and their families and building meaningful relationships with them.

Both nurseries are day nurseries which are open all year round, 5 days per week, from 7.30am to 6.00pm. We are closed at weekends and on bank holidays.

Each of the nurseries has 2 separate units which are specially designed to cater for the different age groups (2-3 years and 3-5 years) and their differing stages of development.

Green Street Nursery

The Green Street nursery is a fabulous Victorian house standing in its own grounds, offering an extensive outdoor area and a very caring and homely atmosphere in which children can progress and learn.

The care that we provide is child-centred. Lots of different resources and tools are available to your child so that learning happens even without the involvement of an adult. This encourages your child to investigate and explore, and gives them the opportunity to discover new things whilst developing their independence. It helps your child value their own achievements and abilities and helps them to be more engaged.

Le Hurel Nursery

Our Le Hurel nursery is a bright and beautifully resourced setting, based within the main Play Care Centre at La Pouquelaye. Offering smaller nursery classes, this nursery provides children a place to grow and flourish in an exciting and welcoming environment.

We concentrate on prime areas of your child’s development, building the foundations for later learning. We follow the Development Matters Framework, a curriculum that starts at birth and goes through to reception age children. This curriculum is the same as the one used in States nursery classes and Reception classes.

As Centre Point is fortunate to have its own brand new fleet of minibuses, your child will have plenty of opportunities to experience a wide range of activities and locations across the island, from the zoo to various beaches, woods, parks and local visitor attractions.

Le Hurel nursery has a bright and cheerful outdoor area which has the additional benefit of a fabulous outdoor classroom area. There is a fantastic area for riding bikes and scooters, along with a well-equipped mud kitchen so spare clothes are essential!

Your child will have a dedicated keyworker who is the person primarily responsible for your child. The keyworker is your main contact in the nursery and will give you regular feedback and keep you updated of your child’s progress.

The majority of our full time staff are Early Years Childcare Level 3 qualified and are Nursery Officers. Our Nursery Assistants are trained in Early Years Childcare at Level 2.

All of our staff are reference checked and CRB Police checked prior to commencing employment and are fully trained in Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection and Infection Control.

Jo manages a small team of Finance staff whom she describes as “3 very hardworking, committed ladies who are great fun to be around”.

Jo is organised, compassionate and dedicated to Centre Point Trust, and finds it extremely rewarding working for our Charity..

A few shout outs

It’s not easy for parents who work full time but knowing that my children were safely picked up from school and looked after until I finished work gave me peace of mind. There was always plenty of things for them to do such as playing outside on the climbing frame or tyre swing, football or just running around. Lots of indoor games too whether it be a game of pool, PlayStation, board games or painting and creating, there was something for everyone.  If they just wanted to chill they could relax in the cinema room. They had snacks if they were hungry and plenty of drinks were available too.

Parent Sheilagh

JJ likes the kind friendly staff and the dinosaurs hahahaha. Mummy thinks that the nursery is convenient to our home 5 minutes away. The staff ALWAYS makes time for the parents as well as the children. There is always more than enough adequate age appropriate toys. The whole nursery is kept clean and sterilised after playing, I have personally seen staff cleaning equipment. We love the nursery and staff even to go as far as saying that they are very much an extension to JJ’s family. He is happy at nursery and rarely wants to leave playing outside with his friends .

Lisa Moss Parent

I work full time and would be lost without you guys –

Brooklyn loves Centre Point so much and I think the services you offer are brilliant and make working parents feel at ease knowing the kids are safe and happy at Centre Point.
